What to expect from the consultation?
During the consultation, clients can expect a focused discussion where we’ll explore the specific challenges you are facing. We’ll talk about your background, what led you to seek therapy, and begin identifying the key areas where you’d like support. I create a safe, empowering, and culturally sensitive space where clients can explore their experiences and concerns for starting therapy. You will be provided with insight on what a typical therapy session would look like and the expectations of therapy. Come prepared with questions, as you’ll have ample time to get the answers you need to confidently begin your therapy journey. By the end of the session, we will establish a plan for moving forward, and you will leave with a sense of direction and an understanding of how we can work together to achieve your goals.
What does the therapy process look like?
Consultation
The consultation is designed to be a detailed evaluation, ensuring that you receive the appropriate level of care based on the severity of your concerns. It also allows time for any questions about therapy expectations, the process, and any necessary clarifications. Prior to the consultation, you will receive information via phone about the consultation fee, time frame, and information to complete to prepare for the consultation. This session ensures that therapy is a good fit for your needs and that you feel comfortable moving forward. If you decide to continue, your first official therapy session will be scheduled.
Intake Assessment
Your first appointment includes a comprehensive intake assessment to better understand your concerns, history, and goals. Based on this assessment, the therapist will determine the recommended frequency of sessions and identify some areas of focus for your treatment process.
Treatment Planning
The second appointment consist of collaboratively developing a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This plan includes goals you identify as important, along with those the therapist recommends based on their assessment to best support your progress.
Beginning Your Therapy Journey
With your treatment plan in place, your therapy sessions will focus on addressing your concerns, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering personal growth. Each session is designed to support your progress and help you navigate challenges with greater clarity and resilience.

I am a licensed mental health therapist practicing throughout the state of New York. I currently work with clients virtually using a secure video conferencing platform.
